Doug Romine served faithfully in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1964, completing two 9-month Arctic deployments as a Gunner’s Mate. His work required precision, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to his crew and country.

Military service ran deep in Doug’s family—his father proudly served in the Navy during World War II, and his mother supported the war effort by working in an ammunition plant near Springfield, Illinois. Together, they embodied a heritage of faith-driven service and patriotic devotion. That same spirit lives on through this fund.
